The 2003 Beach Soccer World Championship was the ninth edition of the Beach Soccer World Championships, the most prestigious competition in international beach soccer contested by men's national teams, organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide, which ultimately came under the control of FIFA in 2005 and then rebranded as the better known ''FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup''. For the first time since 2000, the tournament returned to Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, seeing Brazil win their eighth title by beating first time finalists Spain. ==Organisation== As like in the previous year, eight teams competed in two groups of four teams, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the semi-finals.
